COLLEEN CARMICHAEL: ALWAYS REACHING FOR MORE

Colleen Carmichael is executive director of Reach for Home, a regional organization that aims to end homelessness in Sonoma County. She works diligently with other housing agencies such as RENT Sonoma County and the Housing Placement Community for Sonoma County. She’s also involved in one of the local clubs of Rotary International.

Carmichael told us she never expected to be living such a life of philanthropy. After she was born and raised in San Carlos, south of San Francisco, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the College of Notre Dame and went to work in the financial services industry. She moved to the North Bay in 2014 and became CEO of a $34-million credit union. A year later, she relocated to Healdsburg to lead Reach for Home with the goal of using business strategy to work toward eliminating homelessness. We are lucky to have her in our town and happy to support her important efforts.
