Episode 1 Laura King Healdsburg Velo Laura King has worked in the cycling industry for over a decade. She is a consultant for outdoor organizations and brands, co-director of the gravel cycling event Rooted Vermont, and coordinator of Mill District Velo events and its community. Laura and her husband, Ted, are parents to a two-year old daughter, Hazel, and a baby boy arriving June 2022. Laura enjoys traveling the world with her family to ride and race bikes, foster the biking community, and encourage growth of the sport.

Episode 2 Katina Connaughton SingleThread Farm – Restaurant – Inn Katina Connaughton has honed her agricultural and floral design career across the globe — from rural Hokkaido, Japan, to the English countryside, and back to her home state of California. Prior to opening SingleThread with her husband and business partner, Katina was the greenhouse manager for the Agriculture Program at Santa Rosa Junior College, and she has farmed across the beautiful and diverse county of Sonoma. Katina currently runs SingleThread’s 24-acre farm, floral, and agricultural programming, in addition to designing and overseeing the floral and foraging program for another Healdsburg restaurant, Little Saint.

Episode 3 Rashell (Shelly) Rafanelli Fehlman A. Rafanelli Winery Born and raised in the Dry Creek Valley, Rashell’s hands have been in the grapes ever since she could remember, so stepping into the family business came naturally. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business, Rashell enrolled in upper level courses at UC Davis to further her enology skills. Rashell is a fourth-generation winemaker at A. Rafanelli Winery, specializing in producing premium red wines in an old world style. With the help of her husband, Craig Fehlman, who is the winery's Director of Vineyard Management. Rashell remains focused on continuing the family legacy, while still finding time to ride her horses and enjoy the unique way of life of a Sonoma County vintner.

Episode 4 Marne Dupere Plank Coffee Healdsburg Marne Dupere brings a wealth of business experience to owning Plank Coffee. Born and raised on a working dairy farm in Massachusetts, Marne became a visual merchandiser for Calvin Klein and Room & Board after moving to Los Angeles. She opened Orange, a vintage home furnishings shop in LA, then after a brief stint in Hawaii, where she worked as creative director promoting Hollywood films, Marne returned to the continental US and with her partner, Mike, toured the country in search of the perfect small town. After deciding on Healdsburg, Marne opened Plank Coffee, along with a sister store in nearby Cloverdale.
  1. Shop at Shelton’s Market. Love the small store with tons of great offerings — especially local produce!
  2. Dragonfly Floral. Love to just walk their grounds, but their flowers and plants are amazing!
  3. Young & Yonder for a cocktail and corn hole!
  4. Campo Fina for their pizzas, salads, and bread. Omg
  5. Downtown Bakery. That fruit pocket is insane!! And their Italian loaf is sooooo good.
  6. Mill Street Antiques. Love to scrounge around finding quirky artwork.
  7. Benjamin Moore paint store. The guys there are so helpful on all my design projects.
  8. Forager shop. New store on the plaza makes me envious as a shop owner!
  9. Healdsburg Bagel Company. Love them. Real NY bagels...being from Boston I am a bagel snob.
  10. Plank Coffee: back to back Americanos, vegan organic avo toast, and a blueberry maple scone. Wink wink.

Episode 5 Sarah Opatz Young & Yonder Spirits Sarah Opatz, co-founder, graphic designer, and marketing expert for Young & Yonder, has a passion for both craft spirits and design. With professional experience in public relations, advertising, and design, supported by an MFA in graphic design, Sarah creates the packaging and all branding elements for Young & Yonder's brand portfolio. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Sarah is no stranger to the craft beverage movement, and her experience with and passion for craft beverages makes her the perfect co-pilot for Young & Yonder Spirits.
  1. Take my kids to Downtown Bakery Saturday for pretzel croissants, then next door to Levin & Co to the kid’s section in the back to pick out a new book.

Episode 6 Melissa Yanc Quail & Condor Melissa began baking at seven years old with her grandmother. That interest carried her through pastry school, to working in the best restaurants in Denver, to opening her first bakery in Denver. Melissa moved across the country twice to direct large pastry programs on the East and West Coasts for some of the leading names in the baking industry. After settling in Healdsburg, Melissa worked as the hotel baker at SingleThread before opening Quail & Condor. Born as a farmers market bakery, Quail & Condor has quickly grown to servicing local restaurants, retail clients, and events with other Healdsburg businesses. The company's goal is to put their spin on modern bakery while building community along the way.
