FEATURE

Lifestyle Microfilm

The month of August wasn’t only about construction; we made strides in marketing the project, too. In order to put together a piece to capture the good life around town, we hired Kim Carroll, a local photographer and filmmaker, to shoot a micro-film. The result was astounding.

Kim told us the process of making the film moved him in unexpected ways. “Filming the Mill District lifestyle micro-film was a great reminder of how much diversity there is in our backyard,” he said. “I wanted to create something that was distinct to Healdsburg and Sonoma County. It is such an incredible place, and that’s reflected in the landscape and people who make up this amazing community.”

Shooting the film required lots of help from Mill District friends and partners. We are especially thankful for help from the following: Barndiva, Campo Fina, Front Porch Farm, inGamba Tours, Jordan Vineyard & Winery, MacRostie Winery, Mauritson Winery, Sheryl Yen-Chan and Arya Chan, Silver Oak Alexander Valley, SingleThread, Sonoma Ballooning, The Ranch at Lake Sonoma, Alex and Leah Harris, Alex Petrenko and Federico Calaf, Ceyda and Zimmer Llapashtica, Ethan Didero, Everly Carroll, Heather Svendsen, Kayleigh Harris, Liz and Rich Pembroke, Mark Goff and Phillip Engel, Matthew Accarrino, Ted and Laura King, and, of course, Tooey the wonder dog (featured here).
