Thanksgiving takes on special meaning this month as everyone in Healdsburg is full of gratitude for the firefighters and first responders who kept our town safe from the Kincade Fire at the end of October. Now that the fire is behind us, the focus around the city has shifted to supporting each other and celebrating all the things we love about the place we call home.
In and around town, we’ve done our best to play a roll in supporting key community efforts, fundraisers and gatherings. Many of us volunteered at the Healdsburg evacuation center that welcomed residents from surrounding communities. We made a donation to the Unity & Community Fund organized by Corazon Healdsburg, which is helping victims and long-term recovery. We also hosted a charity ride for the fund with Pro Cyclist Ted King.
In addition, we’ve been active on social media. First, we teamed up with other local businesses to devise a campaign to share photos of beautiful landscapes and fun moments between friends with the hashtag, #ThisIsHealdsburg. And we will show our support of the Healdsburg Tourism Improvement District in a push to bring in visitors with the #StayHealdsburg tag which will be showcased on January’s hoarding updates.
Moving forward, we and other businesses around town will spotlight and profile each other in a concerted effort to spread the proverbial love. What can you do to help? Visit us!
